The purpose of this handbook is to serve as a useful template for those wishing to carry out an an ASHWAS (A Survey of Household Water and Sanitation) like survey. Our experiences and lessons learnt in carrying out ASHWAS are put together in the form of a structured manual, clearly outlining the steps and the sequence to be followed.
